What is CCCSL?
CCCSL is a multi-sport league that consists of churches and Christian organizations competing throughout the year in various team sports with Christ at the center. We believe that team sports is not only a great way to fellowship with other churches but also a way to bring the love of Christ to our community. We pray before and after all games. It is our mission to show God's love to all so we encourage all churches in the Champaign County area and beyond to use this as a part of an outreach ministry in their surrounding community. Currently we have softball and volleyball as our two main sports.
So, if you are a church in the Champaign County area interested in joining any of our sports leagues, or an individual looking for a team to play on, we encourage you to contact us for more information. Please go to the contact page to find out how you can contact us. We also welcome comments and suggestions so feel free to send us a message.
NOTE: Our softball league will be moving to the new Rantoul Sports Complex the summer of 2021. We are very excited about this move to the largest and most modern sports complex in the state of Illinois. The league is open to any church team in the central Illinois area. If you would like to join our softball league or want more information please send us message on the contact page. Come join us this summer.

In Christ always,

1 Corinthians 9:25-27

“All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” (NLT)

How to be Competitive and Christlike

Isaiah 41:10 - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

The Bible doesn’t specifically address participation in sporting events. While it is true that we are ordered to be separate from the world (John 17:14-15), it is also true that we have to live in the world (1 Corinthians 5:10). As Christians, we have to work (and play) daily with those who are unsaved. No matter what part (or position) we play in life, we are to be witnesses for Christ (1 Peter 3:15). We are to be examples of Christ for all to see (Matthew 5:14-16). We should take every opportunity to show others just what Christianity is all about. We should always keep our conduct above reproach.
